Autumn Color

There are times when the felt becomes the canvas and the yarns the strokes of paint. Here all the fibers work together to create a linear patterning and as the yarns, or the painted strokes they represent, extend beyond the boundary of the felted “canvas”, they disappear into holes in the copper backing.

The warmth and softness of felt may seem at intellectual odds with the cold hard quality of copper. Interestingly enough, experientially the two materials feel quite compatible.
