When I make a piece of felt, I can “live” with it for quite some time until the way of working with it becomes clear. The strips, which I use quite often, here were quite long and they began to bend of their own accord. What evolved from layering the curved strips and the paint on the surface of the canvas- which began simply from laying down the colors in the felt itself and the fun of these particular brush strokes- all worked together to suggest the emanating power of some unnamed energy contained here within the edges of the canvas.
